Luke 1:42 "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb"

     Honoring Mary is such a large part of our Christian faith. It’s hard to imagine the honor and love (and surely shock) Mary must have felt when she learned who she was chosen to carry in her womb. To then raise the Son of God, watch Him suffer and die, and witness His resurrection just three days later? How can we begin to imagine such sadness and joy in the same breath?

     I wish for this face of the maiden to remind us of the incredible duties Mary accepted, endured, and suffered, all with unwavering faith in our Father and the plan he set for her. I hope to live my life with a fraction of faith that could be worthy, in some small way, of the role she was chosen to fulfill. Let the depiction of the mother also be that reminder for you.
