Our Why
I had never given much thought to starting my own business. Here and there maybe an idea or two, a completely unattainable day dream, nothing more than shots in the dark. Not until I hit an emotional brick wall did God decide I was ready to begin a journey of creating for the children of His Kingdom.
I grew up with a sort of knack for all things beauty; makeup, hair, wardrobe, if it involved dress up and pretend, I was in. Growing up without siblings, I think I enjoyed becoming someone else, the beautiful women you’d see in the movies, the beloved by all superheroes, or even the graceful villains who we weren’t supposed to like, but did anyways. I always struggled with my faith and understanding what role I was supposed to play in the movie of life. I never felt truly at home. I was constantly searching for a purpose, something or someone to fill the part of me that didn’t understand He was right in front of me the whole time, ready to claim His daughter and give her the purpose she’d been searching for.
The idea for Eden surfaced when the career I thought was going to be “it” for me took the backseat in my priorities. After moving to a new state, I didn’t know what my next steps were or where to start. What turned out to be the greatest blessing of my life was, at the time, something I couldn’t see God’s plan in or a way out for. Turns out, He IS always right in knowing what we need and when we need it. Whether we recognize it or not, the things that seem the most devastating to our lives are blessings too.
My mission with Eden is to create pieces of jewelry that we can use as reminders that He is constantly working behind the scenes of OUR movie. He is making sure we have the right resources and people to guide us toward the next scene of our lives. These pieces of jewelry are that reminder, something to jumpstart you into action, to not be ashamed or afraid to be faithful out loud. Because that is who we are called to be, faithfully loud lovers of Jesus.
